I'm not sure I fully read the description when choosing this stool, but I had envisioned something just big enough to stick my foot on so I could more easily shave my legs in my stand-alone shower. Much to my surprise, this thing is large enough for me to fully sit on, and I am a \"fluffy\" woman. I'm 5'5\" and not the most flexible anymore, so if it were an inch or so taller, I probably wouldn't be able to get my foot on top of it to use as I'd planned. But I manage, and it gives me the benefit of not having to bend over to reach my ankles anymore.... which is not something I like to do, especially because I have POTS and that tends to make me horribly dizzy. Combined with the nice, hot water dilating my blood vessels and it's the perfect storm for lights out! But now, if I start feeling like I need to sit, I just sit on my stool. Hubby does prefer to remove it from the shower so he has more room to move around, but really our shower is just big enough for 2 full-grown people to squeeze in together so if you have a walk-in shower that's about that size or larger this will work perfectly. Fairly easy to assemble, VERY sturdy and holds up to 350lbs... very happy with this stool. It's on the heavy side so may not be great for an older person who can't lift 10ish lbs. But if that's not an issue, this is a nice option.
