Its works great
Works great but you have to keep the cable tight on it.

Just what I needed
The cord for the controller was too short and I had to splice in some electrical cord to make it long enough for ease of use

Careful to install, and then.. its very loud noisey!
This electric hoist works well... and it has the excellent function of 'half-speed/ double load' by doubling up the cable with the hook at the bottom of the loop. But... it has two small things that may not be so happy acceptable to you!1. The mount is not what you would expect. sloppy. flops around if you hang it on a round galvanized plumbing pipe or even square/ rectangular steel tubing that is not the exact same size as the brackets they provide with the hoist. They show it hanging by those two square "U" shape brackets up top. Well... you'll need to find something that exactly matches the inside of those brackets to hang it on, or you'll need to invent something that will secure the hoist without letting it flop around as it hoists and lowers things. In my case, I hung it from some good old square steel tubes that used to be the structure of my old craftsman (now Chamberlain) garage door opener structure. I then added good old door frame wood shims to wedge the u-shape brackets on the hoist to the steel tubes so that it wouldn't rock n roll in operation!2. The second 'problem' (not really a problem as it does not degrade the hoisting capability) is the terrible NOISE the hoist makes when you start up or release the up/down button on the control thing! The motor makes a horrible grinding noise for about 1/2 second as you start or stop hoisting! The continuous motor during hoisting or 'de-hoisting' (?) is not all that bad.
