Machine operates fantastic, I do wish the mast and protractor were a bit more robust or that an optional mast and protractor were available. Overall is a very good entry level machine.

If you are looking for a cheap machine to see if you are interested you can't beat this one. However in my case - After the first stone ( piece of quartz from the river) I notice that I was getting a skip when cutting and polishing. I took the plate off and found that it was out of flat by .005. I pit in on the lathe and flattened it to .0005 and it got better. -After the second stone ( piece of quartz crystal from amazon) I found that the skip was still there and put a dial gauge on the plate and found another .005. I tool the plate off and gauged the motor to plate adapter and found .002 so I took it off and made a fixture to hold it that was the same size as the motor shaft. The plate now runs true to .002 at the edge of the plate. Another issue is that the platform under the mast is not flat and if you have to move it you loose you angles. At this point I was feeling froggy and bought some obsidian and cut a rose facet that turned out fairly well until I got to the polishing and I notices the angle was a little off and there was a small click when I applied pressure. It took a while but I was surprised at how well it turned out. When I was taking the dop stick out of the mandrel I found that the click I felt was wear in the bushing that hold the hand piece. No bad but surprising with so little use. The next stone was a piece of synthetic ruby from amazon (surprisingly cheap). It cut amazingly well compared to the obsidian (less scratches) But when it came to the polishing it was evident that the bushings were now so bad that I didn't want to proceed with what I hope will be a very nice stone when my new bushings come in. I learned a lot from all this and intend to continue. I would buy it again because the next level that I can find is around $2K but anyone considering this machine should be aware that all of them may not be the best of quality.

Hars to dial in proper settings for faceting. Wish they would offer an upgrade to a digital one or make it better. It harder to cut smaller stone girdles because it won't go low enough. A shorter shaft for the dop would be better since cutting girdle/pavilion the mast is hanging off the machine. Otherwise it's an ok machine to start off with. TurtleHoard has upgrades for it that make it a bit better.

It is a wonderful machine, does exactly what it is supposed to. The only reason I can't give it a 5 star is because there are no instructions for facing! No how to or a step by step suggestion of where to start , nothing to point a person in the right direction of if they are doing it right , not a parts manual but it needs a written step of what one should do , my opinion anyway, who knows if my opinion is legit. Now the discharge of cooling water is kinda primitive with nothing for it to go into i figured there was a resivour in the machine with pump.nope just a hose dumping onto the counter if your not paying attention, all is great otherwise.

The machine is ok, it arrived broken all the insides where all over the place so once I took it apart and put all the guts back together I turned it on and the wheel spun but I haven’t cut anything yet I have some emeralds on the way. I think I should have gotten a decent sized gift card or something for having to take apart a fix a machine I’ve never used before so I did save the company a large sum of money. And the fact I’m looking for a cadding machine I’m not comfortable buying through them because I don’t need a high priced machine showing up broken for me to fix. It won’t even let me upload photos so this whole review this is a joke.

In full transparency, I haven't set up any other faceting tools on this machine, but use it as a flat lap for stones. The pump/drip function works well, and the variable speed is handy as well. Would definitely recommend as an entry level cabbing machine at a great price.

Over all I am very pleased with this machine,easy to setup and use. My only gripe is that it only comes with 1 sanding disc which is 600 grit, maybe include a few different grits or put in the description that it only comes with a 600 grit disc. I started smoothing out some rocks and gems the same day it arrived and am pleased with the results. Shipping was very fast, got here 3 days after I placed the order.

Is it expensive? Yes. But it performs as advertised. Very happy with quality.

I’m afraid that it has arrived broken. The plastic cage that holds the motherboard in place is broken and the knob and switches are not working. My husband was able to reassemble the broken pieces and get things working. Next he will learn on it and see how it goes. Hopefully it is a good beginner machine.

bought this to practice lapidary at home. cannot say how accurate the machine is for true gem cutting but at half the cost as most other machines this is a no brainer. water system works well, machine was quite even at full speed, stable and sturdy. grabbed a couple of piece out of my randoms box to try the machine out and I'm vary pleased with the results.
