It's a meat slicer, it operates with a bit of a motor hum. If you are worried about whether it's noisy or not, you don't need one enough to buy it! Am I waking the neighbors with it, no, unless I sneak into their house and slice some cold cuts in their bedroom, they won't notice.

btw ..... to answer your question about how loud it is .... If you stood 4 to 5 feet from this product you wouldn't hear it!

Absolutely Not! This machine is worth every penny I paid for it! One recommendation, buy the knife safe gloves. The Blade is extremely sharp! If you are considering buying this.....do so you will not be sorry! avb ... One caveat ... cleanup is easy but a chore.

It only makes loud noises if there is meat under the blade where it was not cleaned properly. Sometimes you have to use a different type of wrench to remove the whole blade to get excess meat from behind it. Most of the time you only need to remove the protective cover.

I slice a ham. Depending on how tough the outer skin is. the skin bend of you slice it too thin. I believe it does a good job. I'm happy with it.
