I was hesitant to get this because it’s so much cheaper than the other ones we were looking at. But I’m SO glad I rolled the dice on it! This sharpener is perfect for creating an ultra fine blade edge!
We raise & butcher hundreds of birds each year. As you may know, the sharper the blade the more humane the process, and it doesn’t take long for them to get too dull for our liking. Due to a tight budget, we first tried every possible style of manual knife sharpener before deciding to invest in an electric one, which was going to take months to save up for. Then I noticed this one on Vevor for a price we could already afford!
The three slots will cover all your needs. The first one is for seriously dull/damaged blades. (It even removed the deep nicks in a knife we thought we’d never be able to fix.) The second slot is for moderately dull blades. And you use the third slot as the last step after sharpening, or if you’re pretty sure your blade is already sharp enough but you just want to refresh/hone it a bit.
It takes a second to get a feel for the right amount of pressure, and you need to pace yourself as you pull the blade thru so it’s evenly sharpened. (There’s a tendency to pull faster at the very end, but resist that so the tip of the blade isn’t neglected!) But it’s not difficult at all, and you’ll be thrilled with the results. My only disappointment is that it can’t be used on our kitchen shears, because they have a different angle/thickness.
