should i use refractor cement?

Whether to apply refractory cement has no effect on the normal use of the product. If you apply refractory cement, the high temperature cotton will be more durable. It depends on your choice (if you are worried, you can also buy it yourself). If you want to apply cement, you can buy refractory cement that can withstand more than 2700℉.

Melting machine
Great furnace, my 12 and 10 year put it together so easy to setup. Took a bit to get up to temp which makes sense. Only used the the bottom gas line as flames shot out 1.5 feet when both were on. Melted aluminum great. The tongs provided aren't that great ended up using long vice grips to move crucible and pour.

Worked great
This is a good starter kit but before melting you should get a good set of lifting and pouring tongs. The corner of fire brick was broke but that’s nothing the crucible had a little manufacturing damage on one side but I cured it to bright orange and slow cooled in the furnace and it went thru 4 pours no issues bearly showing any use

This little furnace works great and was easy to get set up. I don't think it actually gets up to the temps that it says though - I have tried aluminum with great success however I was unable to melt copper in it.
