Great little beginner machine
Love the size and it seems well built. Great for kids to learn how to do.

Good value. Glad I bought it.
This product was not intended to replace the $2,000 unit, but at less than 1/10th the price, I think it does a plenty good enough job.It handles smaller batches of clay just fine. I think it would be hard to center a large amount of clay, because the motor is kind of weak.

Seems good enough
The unit is bigger yet smaller than expected. Seems like a decent product considering the source. They used a mandrel with belt drive and the motor is controlled using a motorcycle throttle on the inside. Cheap but fully repairable for handy people. I installed a batt on it and the weight of the batt combined with the weight of the clay seemed very stable and powerful smooth. Honestly for 130 bucks it’s worth it.

Perfect
I bought this for my husband who took 3 years of pottery in school. He really missed doing it so this was an early Christmas gift. He's having the time of his life. No complaints. I wish you could see his smile!

Double check!
I honestly have no complains other than when it first arrived it was rattling and when I took off the bottom to get inside I found a loose screw that went to the motor. I got it back in its spot well enuf and if works like it’s supposed to and I’ve already made a couple things!UPDATEI’m loving this wheel!! I’ve been using it everyday and I love how fast and strong the little motor is!

Inexpensive but functional wheel
This is a much smaller wheel than the ones you will use taking classes at your local art studio. That being said. It works. I have been able to throw small and mid-Sized pots. The wheel does slow slightly when you are centering if you are using a lot of clay.I think this wheel has a high speed. The speed control is not especially sensitive and as a tall human I don’t find the foot pedal to be functional. I sit on a plastic foot stool, I have the wheel on a mat on the floor. I couldn’t find the right combination of table height and chair height to do otherwise, but someone more handy could make it work.I actually enjoy using it and have made lots of mugs and bowls. My biggest complaint is that it’s messy. Because the tray is so small clay and clay water sometimes goes flying off the wheel. The tray is removable for cleaning. I think this is a good wheel for someone who wants a cheap starter wheel for practice. This is good sized for kids.Overall- functional. Inexpensive. Portable.

Perfect for users knowing how to use it
We like the wheel thrower but the try leaks so you’ll need to put something under the try like towels or bags
