Motor arrived yesterday. Installed it. Replaced the original motor that lasted 35 years on my compressor. Had to use a larger cord than the original to the motor as the motor would cycle fqst and slow. I went from a 12/3 cord to a 10/3 to the motor and it seems to be fine now. Checked old cord for issues none found. The current draw for this motor under load is just over 17.5 amps compared to the original 1.6 Hp motor that used to draw 14.6 amps on the same compressor under load. Old unit would work on a 15amp circuit this one blows the breaker after awhile. This one works well on the 20 amp circuit. Wired for 110 service shipped out as 240 volt. Used the compressor last night and all of today to finish a front end rebuild on my truck and to install a new rear end as well. Compressor cycled on and off about 30 times. Always started fast and kept up. I only use this compressor a few times a month so we will see how it lasts. Usually less than 1.0 hours of actual run time per month sometimes even less. When looking for a replacement motor this one was listed for 85.00 dollars. A few hours later, like less than 2hours the price shot up to over a 100.00 dollars when I went to purchase it. Not sure what that was about but would have liked it more at 85 bucks. Will update if she takes a dump.
