As my wife and I have aged, dragging laundry and grocery bags up to the living portion of our stilted house in Florida has gotten progressively more difficult. I rigged a simple 2 inch trailer receiver hitch to the main beam in our upstairs porch and mounted the hoist on a short piece of 2 inch tubular steel and installed it. Made a small basked to hang off the hook and now we can "hoist" up laundry and grocery bags from the deck to the porch with ease. The only problem I encountered was that the mounting brackets do NOT fit around a piece of 2 inch steel square stock. In order for this project to work I had to cut two pieces of 1/4 angle iron, weld them to the 2 inch stock and then drill holes for to mount the hoist. The brackets are rather flimsy anyway, and I was afraid that they would not hold the weight of the hoist, the 2 inch stock and the suspended load.But the system works fine and the hoist is quiet, fast and reliable.

I HAVE ONLY USED IT A COUPLE TIMES BUT SO FAR SO GOOD.

I haven used yet but I purchased for the weight capability snd it was peiced nice.

Works great. Won't use it alot but when I do it will be super handy! The only downfall that it has is the short remote control! how are you suppose to use an overhead crane and not be able to reach the controller?! I know why they did it that way is because some idiot didn't get out of the way and lifted something way to heavy and it came crashing down on him, got hurt and then sued! In turn the company had to make the short controller so that you wouldn't necessarily be directly under it so....I cut the controller cord directly in half with my giant bolt cutters and then took a simple four wire 16 gauge 20ft long and wired color for color reconnecting the controller making it 25ft long. It was simple.

Does what I wanted it to do. I bought it to hoist a large rolled-up outdoor carpet up into my garage rafters where I tied it up with tow straps and hooks. For one person, with no help, this would be impossible. With the help of the hoist it was a dream. Just hoist it up hook on the straps and done.

the only thing that could be improved is a longer cable on the hand held controler
