Smaller than my mother’s old distiller and far more easier to clean/descale. About three and a half hours makes a gallon and works great for people needing distilled water for cpaps and ice makers. A+
This just works and it works well. If you need distilled water and you're willing to wait a few minutes for the water to be produced, this is it. We use it for our CPAP machines at first but now we use it for several things including aquarium water. Note that this removes everything from the water including beneficial minerals which you may need to put back into the water [aquariums].
Was tired of buying water at the store and hauling it home. I use it for coffee all year and the humidifier in the winter too. No empty bottes to get rid of every week. No more bottle from shelf to cart, cart to vehicle and vehicle to house.
A friend recommended this distiller and we're very happy with it. We go through a lot of distilled water and I did not like having to use so many plastic bottles. I saved one of the plastic water bottles to pour the finished water into because the bottle that comes with the unit is difficult to pour from and I end up splashing water all over the counter. There's a lot of calcium/mineral residue after the distillation and I clean it with white vinegar and a Scrub Daddy (it's gentle enough not to scratch the tank).
Will pay for itself pretty quickly the way prices are.... :-(
Beats buying distilled water. I use hot tap water (soft water). Set a timer for 3:45 then shut off, don't let it go dry and auto shutoff, not good, that is a safety feature, not standard operation. Works well.
