Works well and as fast as water can boil and send off steam. A little noisy, but not obnoxious.

this product does what it promises, which is to make about a gallon of distilled water in 3 1/2 hours. We start with tap water which has a TDS of about 200 ppm and make 3 gallons of distilled water (TDS of 2) in a day. We use the water in our humidifies which we run about 6 months of the year.We clean the urn every night using a tablespoon of food grade citrate acid, and the still is ready to go in the morning.Our previous still was of similar design but did not have an on/off switch. This is very handy because it allows us to turn the unit on and off without pulling the power cord which creates a spark.The only problem so far is the funnel cap to the pitcher is too tall, so we don use it.

Makes real distilled water in an hour.

For this budget price range, it does the job. I was actually quite surprised how much crud is in my tap water. The main issue I have is that the way these are built to auto shut off is when the temperature gets above a certain range. I've found that it starts burning the leftover crud from the water and creates fumes which leaches back into the water making it taste gross and smell bad but later seems to evaporate off after a few days. After I get a gallon distilled I run it through my ceramic filter for drinking and it tastes great. If I'm by my machine and I catch it in time to turn it off before it boils all the water out it doesnt taste or smell bad. The other small issues are that this thing is pretty noisy and blows a decent amount of heat off the top of the unit. I originally had it in a small plant room but the tempuratures were reaching almost 90 degrees so I had to put it on my kitchen counter where it takes up quite a bit of space. It takes the machine about 3.5 to 4 hours to distill 1 gallon. I've found that starting with hot tap water speeds it up a bit, maybe 30min or so. I've run this machine almost everyday since I got it 2 months ago, sometimes 3-4 gallons in one day and it's been a champ. Cleaning it is fairly easy, I put enough water in the bottom to cover it by about half an inch then add a splash of distilled white vinegar and scrub it then let it sit for a few minutes and scrub again until all the crud is cleaned off. I clean it in-between every gallon because my tap water is that disgusting. Then we distill again... Overall I'm quite pleased with this water distiller at this price despite the few annoyances.

This water distiller works great, the only problem with it, is the funnel top for the plastic bottle is a little to long for our distiller. I use one from my previous distiller and it works great!!

This water distiller makes delicious water and i can see the residue from our very hard West Texas water thats left behind. I recommend this product

I bought this to make distilled water to water orchids with. I really like this distiller. It's relatively quick, it's quiet, and it's easy to use. I had a slight issue with the seal the second time I used it, but it seems to be fine if you don't try to distill more than once a day. It's easy to clean and the water tastes really good too! Definitely good for home use of distilled water.

Took the advice of previous review. Put the distiller on a timer. So it shuts off before overheating. Works fantastic, also makes it easier to clean. Highly recommend this unit and company. Product is completely as described, also had quick shipping. If I could would give 6 stars!
