Good strong Vice or the money

Its havy and feels pretty solid. But you will need to take it all apart and clean up mating surfaces, the screws, and use moly grease to make it operate smoothly.

For the price is a pretty good product, very sturdy and heavy dutythe product cannot be defined a high precision vise but also the price is not even close to a high precision product, so I can only say it worths the money spent.If you are use to do works that dont need an extreme precision like I usually do it is a very competitive product.It obviously dont have micrometric movements but you have to release the bolts, move it by hand and tighten them back to block the piece in position. sure is that once found the right position and closed the bolts it will remain in position while working.Knowing all the limitations inevitable for this price, I'm very pleased to have this kind of product on my millling machine

This vice works great and is well built. It is sturdy and holds my projects in place. I use it in combination with my drill press. It came quickly and on time. I would recommend this vice. -R.C.

Very nice for small projects. Heavy, sturdy, etc. The vice needs some basic fine tuning, and it is not a precision tool. Very good for small projects like making a business card holder, or doing some basic facing or very basic milling.

I did a lot of research and looking around before I settled on this particular vise. I tend to put a lot of credit into the reviews that others write about their experience with products that I am interested in. I start with the star ratings and the number of reviews a product has received before moving on to the written reviews. True... this vise didn't have as many reviews as I typically like to see but I checked it out none the less.When I first opened the package the first thing that I noticed and thought was kind of odd was the fact that they only put packing material on the top side and and did nothing to protect the all so important bottom of the vise. There was no apparent damage but certainly something they should consider going forward. I will give it a closer inspection to ensure there is no damage and for flatness before i secure it to my mill.Like others have said, this thing is a lot bigger than I expected, but since I have a full size mill that won't be a problem. If you have one of the bench top mills the size and weight of this vise could be an issue for you. The next thing I noticed is what I thought was perhaps a milled test block that had been accidentally left in the jaws. After I attached the handle and started cranking the jaws open to remove the block I realized that the block was the jaw when I saw the seam start to open. I clamped the jaws closed again and the seam vanished. The jaw faces are perfectly (as far as the human eye can see) machined.I have not yet attached it to my mill for a test run but I have no doubt that it will provide my desired outcome. Unless something unexpected and catastrophic happens when I put it in operation, and I seriously doubt that will happen, I would absolutely recommend this product.I am certain that one can find a much more precise vise, but for the home shop and at this price I think this is a very good buy.

great vice - it's big and it's heavy - unless you need the 6' opening, I'd go with the 5' - it's not a Kurt but you can have 6 of these for what one Kurt costs

I purchased two 4" vises to be used together on a small Grizzly mill. The size it just right for the machine. I like the fact they provide keys so you can trim the keys to fit the table. The keys also provide a positive lock to keep the vises in-line while working. The -1 star is because of the height difference in using a pair on the machine. The vises are not book ends to each other. My examples are .012 different in height so I will have to shim 1 vise so they are the same working height. The milled keyed areas under the vise are not the same to each other as well. Also 1 handle was not broached all the way therefore it would not slide onto the hex vise screw fully. So the vises need a little TLC before using them for other projects in the garage. I'm happy I didn't spend $1000 for kurt vises when with a few hours of tuning these vises will be more than fine for my intended machine. These vises are not for real CNC work as the vises are not held to the tightest tolerances. For the price they can't be beat.
