Be aware, this is not a full 50A cable (it's only 10 AWG). At 40A it will generate heat and voltage will drop with ~10V and is considered fire hazard (see ampacity charts). So loss in cable would be 10*40 = ~400W. If you only use it for smaller currents (<30A) it would work fine. If you need a 50A cable (for sustained 40A currents at 80%) look somewhere else.

FML...I already cut it down for a hardwire. Thanks for wasting a good chunk of my change...

I bought this for charging my electric car. Works well. If you bring the cord inside the house, it will warm up and uncoil easily. Lays nice and flat/straight, which indicates good quality to me. Very happy with it.
