The anvil feels fairly lively! I couldn’t wait to finish a stand for it, so I worked off the shop floor with this little guy and it still produced good rebound and feels very sturdy. I wish there was a Pritchel hole, but I can just make a bolster plate for the Hardy I suppose. My anvil has a little oblonging on two of the sides of the Hardy and the horn is fairly thick at the point. This did make forming a circle around the horn a bit of a challenge, but this isn’t a dealbreaker for me.
If you’re interested in starting to smith or just need a little farm/shop anvil I would highly recommend this anvil to you. If you’re a longtime smith and need an easily transported anvil, no doubt about it. If you’re looking for the magical and mythical qualities of an antique anvil, maybe not.
