This heater came with half of the intake pipe blocked with casting flash. I was able to get it out, but needed to clean up the cooling fins as well. I decided to tear the unit down and go through the entire thing. I found a few loose screws, and some wiring that needed to be rerouted.
The big takeaway is yes, it was annoying to have to tear the thing all apart to make sure it was safe and useable, but VEVOR did stand behind their product and refunded $50 of the $82 I paid for it.
I did get it mounted in my 24x28 insulated garage and it can maintain 60°-65° in Wisconsin ON THE LOWEST SETTING, in January. Very impressed how long it can run on a tank. It’s been running for 12hrs now and has used approx 1.4-1.6 liters of fuel in that time. Quite cozy to work at that temp.
I’m purchasing a second one now for parts, or for a second heater to run. I wanted to get it before any tariffs are out in place.
If I was to recommend anything, I’d say get a good 12v dc power supply if running it at home and not as a parking heater. The other thing I’d do, is to look up efficiency vids on YouTube. There are guys doubling the efficiency by gutting out an oil filled radiant heater and piping the exhaust through it as a secondary heat exchanger.
Do you own research though. I’m not responsible for your actions in case you don’t know what you’re doing and wind up gassing yourself.
