Ordered this as we like to sleep later than the chickens. This came in quickly, easy to put in, doesn’t take much time. The wire on the sensor was not tightened down with screw very well so when it did not work initially, hubby backtracked to find the issue, tightened the screw & wire down and viola! We had power to the sensor. I walked out to the chicken house tonight just to check to see if the thing worked properly and yes! It does work. All chickens were inside & settled! So thankful I came across this on amazon. DH had no intention of opening the chicken house door every morning the rest of our years together. Thank you!

I wish the remote came with batteries I didn't see anywhere on the box or instructions what type of batteries to use for it . I sent a email just waiting for a response.

Update the light sensor is not working any more. Would like to convert this one to a timer.

It was okay then it quit working....Would like to convert this one to a timer??Works great, my only compliant is that the operation instructions are simply pictures. My final adjustments that made it work perfect. Turn the opening time to the earliest setting and the closing setting to the latest. Since I also have a camera I can see that all my girls are in the coop and on their perch a good half hour before the door closes, in the morning a few are awake before the door opens. I am very satisfied with this door. it was simple to install.

If you have a little bit of handyman skills then this is a breeze to install. All of the electronics are there. It is actually quite nice. I added a battery and a solar panel and now I am in business.

Best value out there. It has been working perfectly for 6 weeks so far and looks like it will last. It really HOLDS the door shut so I do not worry about anyone breaking into my coop in the night. I had to modify the door because the inclosed "hinge" tripped the in-door-way sensor while closing, but this was easy to do. I wish it had a timer to delay the opening of the door because it opens at first light, which foxes tend to run, but this can be fixed by using the remote. I would buy again.

I love this automatic door! It opens when its daybreak and closes when it's dark! I dont have to worry at all early in the morning to let the chickens out of the coop, into the run! Love it! Love it!

Installation was fairly easy, and it seems to work great so far. Losr three chickens to a bobcat last week. Now that I have this installed everybody is safe and sound! I'm giving it 4 stars because a day after I installed it something has gone wrong with the motor and it will not open all the way, although it still works, ill probably need to return it, but I don't have time to deal with it right now...
