Currently using this to cut 0.047" diameter stainless cable. Has made ~2500 cuts so far. Wish I could get replacement blades for this unit. Customer service was unable to help with that.

Here is the magic decoder ring for setting up this machine: Setting the wire cutting machine HEAD: Length of stripped wire on the end in MM HEAD STRIPPING: Length of insulation left on the wire end (0 = Bare Wire) 11 1mm gap, etc. LENGTH: Overall length of the wire including stripped ends TAIL STRIPPING: Length of stripped wire on the end in MM TAIL: Length of stripped wire on the end in MM KNIFE VALUE: How far to cut into insulation (Smaller is a less deep cut) (Too big will cut the wire instead of stripping) KNIFE RETREATING: How far to open the cut to strip the wire (About 10-5 or so) - This allows the insulation to be pulled off without scratching the wire. Notes: If KNIFE RETREATING is too small it will mark the wire If KNIFE VALUE is too large, it will nick the wire The right gripper is used when stripping the Head End The left gripper wheel is used when cutting the Tail End

Fantastic wire cutter/stripper. Will save our company so much money using it. The manual is completely useless though, expect a lot of trial and error to figure out how to use it. YouTube has a few good video tutorials if you search for the P/N.

ESL typed owners manual includes information for machine features not on the SWT 508SD, otherwise as I dialed machine in, I was able to refer to the troubleshooting for correcting issues. Purchased to cut and strip wires for harness production. Paid for itself out of the box in labor saved alone.

I use this almost daily for my work. I make lots of custom cabling for prototype development and testing , and this machine has turned a solid day's work into just a couple hours worth.It does solid and stranded wire perfectly every time. It can even do lengths of multi-conductor cable, but all you can to do is cut it. Still, if you need precisely measured lengths of coax or multi-conductor, this is the way to go.The manual isn't the best, but it's enough to get you started.I'd very much like to get the twisted pair attachment for it, if it's available.

This machine is fantastic. It cuts and strips perfectly and at a speed that is outstanding. The manualmay be a little confusing for some. It's written to cover several models and by a person whose first language doesn't appear to be English. However, it took me less then ten (10) minutes (& 18 inches of wire) for me to figure out the key pad and configure my first set-up of 18Ga. wires for length of wire and a perfect stripping length for amp. sockets. Once setup, it only takes seconds to change strip or wire length parameters. Super simple and very intuitive. And "No" you don't need to be a technical geek or experience with this type of equipment ..... that's coming from an "old geezer" who still uses a Flip Phone. This unit is simple to operate, fast, accurate and costs a fraction of anything else out there.

This product will accurately and rapidly cut and strip wire up to 10 meters (30 ft) in length. We used it mostly for wire harnesses with wires less than 10 inches long. The length of stripping on the end of the wire can be controlled to the nearest .1 mm which leaves wire the perfect length for the desired contact. The company has stood behind the product.

We received ours with a different control panel than in the image, but it's a better control panel. Now that we've figured out the settings it's doing work that took several hours in several minutes! We actually ordered this one incorrectly as we need the next size up (larger wire), but have now bought that model as well and will keep both. I am having trouble figuring out how to get the machine to remove the jacket instead of just scoring it if anyone has any tips.

I didn't buy on Amazon, but want to say that it's a great machine. Watch the YouTube videos and you don't need the manual. Time saved cutting and stripping manually easily justifies this addition to my cottage factory.
