Gets the Fruit Job Down...
I use this to Dry pears and works great. Get the pears somewhat soft and cut about 1/4 inch slices and than cut the cores out with a small plastic pipe and dry them for about 15 hours. They are great and something you cannot buy anywhere. Your Family will love you over these Great Pears.

Great for price
Great cutter but it would be nice to have the blade be adjustable and easier to remove also the feet stick well but regular rubber feet would be better .

Works well.
The compartment for loading items to be sliced somewhat limited. Large round heads of lettuce and cabbage need to be quartered to fit. Very sharp out of box. Minimal effort to operate. Slice so thin almost can see thru veggies. Works well.

no more stinky bag shredded lettuce
Excellent lettuce shredder. No more shredded horrible bagged lettuce. All stainless steel easy to clean. The blades are very sharp. Well worth the money, to make great shreds. Just makes your burger or sandwich taste so much better.

Good potato slicer
I purchased this slicer to slice potatoes for frying and scalloped potatoes. It works great for thin too moderately thin potato slices. I have not tried it for peppers or onions yet. It is very quick to use. Being rather large make sure you have room to store it. It would be great for any commercial kitchen that slices a large number of potatoes. I am sure if an item of fruit or vegetable is firm enough it could be sliced with this slicer. A great overall product!

Upsides: Fast to use, consistent results, low cost within its class. Downsides: Difficult to fit into domestic dishwasher. Difficult to clean by hand. Rotor is cast aluminum - not OK. Platen (plate that pushes veggie into the blades) is cast aluminum - not OK. Cast aluminum platen slides on two bare points of contact with the stainless steel frame. Each point of contact of the aluminum platen with the stainless steel abrades the aluminum during usage, potentially resulting in aluminum shavings/dust contamination of the food - not OK(!) Cut edges of the stainless steel sheet metal frame are not smoothed, are sharp, potential hand-cut hazard - care required when handling. On my task list to spend an hour in the shop sanding/grinding down sharp edges of the sheet metal frame.

Nice little slicer
I was amazed at how it sliced thru fresh hard beets to make beet chips....so good! Looking forward to making potato chips and eggplant parmesan. AND no sliced fingers!! This costs a bit more than a mandolin but worth every penny.

Almost perfect
Very nice quality, All fasteners are stainless screws and bolts. I had two issues with mine, the edges on almost all the metal pieces were very sharp and could actually cut you if you slid your fingers or hand along the edge.. I had to use a fine honing stone to break the sharp edges and smooth them. The other issue was the return spring on the "pusher" rod is way too strong and would apply too much pressure to some vegetables, especially tomatoes. I replaced the spring with much lighter one so it lightly presses on items being sliced,
