Read the directions...you aren't supposed to fold the wire back on itself and the exposed water line may not be exactly the length of the wire. Directions walk you through wrapping it in a manner that uses excess without wrapping it back on itself.

We use this to keep our chicken waterer from freezing. We taped in straight line along the pvc waterer and wrapped with the same brand insulation fiberglass. Water hasn’t frozen at all during this winter with sub freezing temps. It automatically turns on and off and has a light indication to show it is receiving power. Do note: no attachment supplies are included, but duct tape works fine. Great buy.

Worked great i used it for a dog nursery. Install it under a sheet of plywood to keep puppies warm and off the hard cold ground. Wood stayed warm. Not hot at all just so nice.

I used it for my RV over the winter. Way cheaper than heated hoses! I paralleled it on the water hose, taped every foot and covered with pool noodles and never had an issue when everyone else was frozen up! Worth every penny and easy to work with, good visual glow and temperature sensor did well.

The heat cable worked out awesome. This is the first year we had to use it as we are still relatively new to this new full-time RV living. We had no problem with freezing water and had water all winter long.

Works perfectly, like the lighted plug to indicate "on", easy to install if follow directions.

I am using it to keep my outdoor plants worm over the winter.

Recently my city water hookup hose was frozen from the end of my heated cable to the filter...after adjusting the tape's configuration there have been several below freezing nights since that haven't had any water freezing! Definitely doing its job well!
