You can’t see or feel it work until the thermometer is pressed against something cold. A lot cheaper than Menards, almost half the price for the same thing, minus the packaging.

I have an outside faucet in a place that never sees the sun. I taped the wire in a piece of angled metal and put it against the faucet. stayed warm all winter so no problems.

it to keep my hot tub cozy all winter long in a bitter SoDak end season. I wrapped this around the main pipes leading out of the impeller, duct taped the mylar around it and then coated the inside door with more of it and kept that thing hot and steamy all winter! Worked perfectly! If it can keep a hot tub hot in -20 degree blizzards, it can certainly keep any pipe from freezing.
