Before installing this, I plugged it in and tested it. It is frigid outside, so it came on immediately and started warming up. I would highly recommend you test these out, of any brand, before you take the time and effort to install this. And thats all it really take to install these. Time and effort. Very little skill. I got the 60ft cable, which was quite tedious to install, but I needed to replace the heat line on the pipe that brings water into my cabin from the well. The heat line came with some strapping tape that can be used to adhere it to the pipe with. But I preferred to use some leftover aluminum tape I had gotten for other heat lines on other pipes. So far, my pipe hasnt frozen, and its been well below freezing temperatures for a couple days now. So far, so good.
