I bought Heat Ttrak snow melting stair treads about 10 years ago for my back stone porch. Being on the north side of the house the three steps and landing do not melt so quickly and very dangerous with ice. I don't have mats to cover all the porch just where needed. I leave them on when I know snow is coming and they are always melted allowing our dogs to go down the steps if I didn't shovel yet. I bought three more treads because the one wasn't working so I'll keep the others as backup or hook them together to cover more surface.

I use these heat mats to keep ice off of my deck in the winter I go out in the morning to feed my cats and it can be quite slick. I have a 5 foot Mat and a 3 x 3 and two step mats. It allows me to move around the deck freely without worry of slipping. My cats love to sleep on them also keeps them warm in the winter. Keeps their water from freezing. Well worth the money

Rocky mountain winters can be brutal (i.e. -40 windchills and back to back to back blizzards). Our house has a smaller front porch, but there are two stone steps to get up to the porch. They're already uneven to begin with, so any lick of ice makes them a decent hazard. These have managed to tough out quite the winter this year! There's only been a few days where they can't keep up with the snow accumulation, but it's much nicer to sweep of a top layer of snow than to chip away at a sheet of ice. We've had our other mats for a few years and they're still good!

I used 2 of these mats last winter and added the 10 x 30 inch plus a 20 x 50 inch mat more recently. Best invention ever for our cold, snowy CO mountain winters. The grommets allowed me to screw the mats down for added safety.

Our two dogs love the warm, no slip tread heaters, and do we, no need to shovel or try to chip ice away

They work, they hold up well, visitors like them. I have them on one side of the stairs next to the railing. On our cobble walkway they appear to transfer some heat to neighboring stones so they clear wider than their width. Highly recommended.

We have HeatTrak stair treads on our back steps and just purchased them for our front steps. It will be a pleasure not to have to shovel the steps this winter. We love the treads we already have; they work great!

These step mats work great along with the sidewalk mats !
