This unit has too much internal resistance and will not reach line level under light loads. It also does not go above line voltage as most Variac type transformers do. It is not very useful to me.

My very first purchase from Vevor and I was pleasantly surprised. The overall "fit and finish" is quite good. The rheostat wiper has a nice feel to it. The analog meter is a little off from measuring with my digital meter, but that is really not a big deal. I would definitely recommend to anyone that needs a low cost unit for their bench.

I use this variable voltage transformer while repairing audio components. No problems with the unit and it is electrically quiet.

This is very nice and useful to me .. I use it almost everyday . I have motors that use with this ... Including a shop fan that I set on the floor when I'm under a truck ... and can adjust the air flow needed for the outside air temperature at that time

I needed a means to lower the heat of a soldering iron and this works perfectly.

Don't drop it on your foot, it's heavy AF. Check the dimensions—its not so much big in size as in size-to-weight. But that's to be expected with a 20 amp Variac. Also, the smaller models still weigh more than what you'd expect for the current that they carry. Not sure why that is, but probably has to do with voltage accuracy and thermal management. I felt like I should be able to get away with a much smaller, lighter device to manage voltage, but I'm sure they have valid reasons as materials are expensive, and most companies scrounge. This guy sits on my workbench right next to my DC bench supply and has come in handy for a lot of things. It's very accurate and sturdy, and the only issue I've had is that it's hard to read where the dial is from a distance. I used a label maker to print a black and white arrow for this, but it's still facing away from me if the voltage is set anywhere below 90-ish volts. The LED inside the power switch does seem to come in handy for me, and I may have to make an LED stack just to show voltage output. Maybe they should have a model that includes one; that would help. For the price, it's a steal. These things seem to appreciate with time, so it's probably not going to lose value any time soon.

Unit is almost identical to 2 others I have used for 35 years. These are great units. I use them with full bridge rectifiers & 90 volt DC motors to make variable power for different machinery. This one used on a 1950 Delta Rockwell 7 inch shaper. Very dependable units with copper windings & good hardware. Vevor is a source I can use now for many more of these.

Works as advertised. Basic Variac, no problems. I don't want to type 100 more characters, but there you have it.

This Variac was a great value for the money! I love the fact that it has an accurate voltmeter to aid in slowly bringing the voltage up and a fuse on it for ultimate safety.
