I compared a lot of different winches starting at 6,000 lb which you would think is enough for most cars and trucks. I drive a 4 door f150 and at the junk yard on the way out it’s under 6k. After checking brands, weight ratings and features it just made sense to buy the Vevor 13k here. It really isn’t that much more expensive than a 6. Features I like are the synthetic cable. I don’t know how many manual come-a-longs I have destroyed and the steel cable fraying and piercing your fingers. I know, don’t tell me about gloves. The remote control worked right out of the box perfectly. The only problem I encountered and I don’t know if it will repeat next time I use it, when you disengage the spool to pull the cable out, I couldn’t pull everything wound up out. I had to engage the spool and assist the cable coming off with use of reverse. Small problem. I ordered a 1/4” steel plate to bolt to the trailer rail and mounted the winch. Necessary bolts for the winch are included. The car I loaded with my first pull was a unibody gm with the front off and the rear wheels and tires on. The car abruptly had to move from one body shop to another due to a death. The whole back half of the car was on a homemade cradle with cheap casters. We tore two casters off loading the car and had plenty of unnecessary resistance to the pull of the winch motor. Winch never even made any lagging noise in the motor. I have purchased other Vevor products (at first because they have the best price) and have come to trust their quality!
