It makes ice!
I've had it running for a couple of weeks. Working good so far. It is smaller than our previous unit which I like. Runs quiet. Have not figured out how to adjust the freeze cycle to have less webbing of the ice. I know you can adjust the freeze cycle to run longer but I am at the factory default setting now and it needs to be less time. I just need to refer to the manual, but haven't.

Great Machine
The machine can really put out some ice. I have it on setting 8 (1-8 scale) which makes solid ice, not ice with the holes which is better for drinks probably. On this setting it takes 18 minutes to make the ice then another 90 seconds to drop the ice. I am getting around 5.5 pounds a hour (132 pounds a day max) and my unit is in the garage. If the unit was in a cold inside place, you may get the 155 rated capacity as the melt will be minimal (it's still not much in my garage which is in the 70s probably) The bin might can hold 33 pounds with a few key considerations. 1. if you are making the ice with a lower setting the ice will have holes in it but still take up about the same size so not likely you will get the 33 pounds. 2. The ice will tend to break apart when it drops (on setting 8), but after a some ice is in the bin, the next ice will not break and will remain in a sheet since it is not falling as far. These sheets will tend to push the lever down and trick the ice maker into thinking the bin is full. This can happen with about 16 pounds of ice on setting 8. 3. Reducing the setting to 5 or so, the sheets still will not break that well after the bin has ice in it but the ice is not nearly as solid (better for drinks).4. So if you want the full amount of ice production per day, you will need to collect the ice every 3 hours or so and put in the freezer or go bust the ice a bit, so the ice will settle some and allow more to be produced before filling. 5. The ice is pretty good but with any ice maker, the ice is much better after being frozen in a freezer if using for fishing, can/bottle drinks, camping, game, etc. 6) if you just want this for a bar, then on a lower setting then 8, you are going to get 4 drops a hour or 72 x 4 = 288 cubes per hour. I am getting 3 drops a hour on setting 8 and the ice will break your tooth if you tried to crunch down on it. Also, it seems a 16 pound bag will weigh more than 16 pounds if you break up the ice and have it on setting 8. 7) the filter seems like crap, but i dont think there is a filter on my ice maker in the house freezer, and the scoop while plastic, seems to be of good quality and i can scoop out a 16 pound bag in less than a minute. and 8) you will never get the max production because nobody is going to be up at 2am to clear out the bin. I think i can get 80 pounds a day without too much inconvenience by unloading before bed and unloading when i wake up. So expect 5 to 5.5 pounds a hour while you are emptying on level 8 in a garage.
