I had high expectations for the Vevor 32-inch guillotine shear, but my experience has been nothing short of a disappointment. Straight out of the box, the blade was dull and completely unfit for cutting, which was shocking given the advertised specifications. The shear is supposedly rated to cut a maximum thickness of 0.06 inches (1.5mm) and features a T10 steel blade with a claimed hardness of >52HRC, but these claims seem far from reality. Even cutting 26-gauge steel—far thinner than the maximum rating—was a struggle. After just a few uses, the blade dulled even further, making any cutting task almost impossible. Worse, whenever I tried to cut material, it would pull to the left, creating warped, uneven edges and bowed cuts that were far from straight.
The issues didn’t stop there. When clamping the material at the ends to try and stabilize it, the metal would slip between the blades instead of being cleanly severed. This not only made the cuts ineffective but also damaged the material. At the start of each cut, the metal would bubble up and warp, completely ruining any precision I was aiming for. For a guillotine shear, where accuracy and clean cuts are paramount, this level of performance is unacceptable. The overall build quality feels poorly engineered, and despite the claims of using high-quality materials, the reality is far from what was promised.
Unfortunately, my frustration didn’t end with the product itself. The customer service experience with Vevor was equally disappointing. Initially, the company assured me they would send replacement parts to address the issues, giving me some hope. However, they later informed me that the parts were out of stock—conveniently after the return window had closed. They offered me a partial refund of $70, which doesn’t even come close to covering the cost of the product or the time I’ve wasted trying to make it work. Now, I’m stuck with a defective shear that I can’t return and a company that refuses to take proper responsibility for their product.
In summary, the Vevor 32-inch guillotine shear has been a complete letdown. From poor performance and subpar build quality to the frustrating experience with customer service, this product has been a waste of time and money. I regret my purchase and cannot recommend this shear to anyone. If you’re considering buying it, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This product and the company behind it are simply not worth the hassle..
