I bought this lathe for my 14year old son who expressed interest after lathing in his Junior High Shop Class. I didn't want to invest too much not knowing if the interest would stick or not. He has loved it. He has made candlesticks, a baseball bat, and a few chess pieces on it so far. The tools it comes with are not top quality, but you get what you pay for. Overall we are very satisfied with this product.

Arrived with broken square tubing end caps and a broken wire holder for power cord. Sent email asking for replacement items but received no reply. It works ok but is not a well built heavy use type of item. Once again, you get what you pay for.

This lathe fit my needs very well. It is heavy duty and made of cast iron.

This lathe seems to do everything I have needed so far. I do not have much experience yet, and no experience with a more expensive lathe. The tail stock is true once locked down, but you have to pay attention when you lock it down and make sure it is straight and square. If it is not locked down, it is loose and difficult to drill, but I do not know if this is usual with a wood lathe. It takes the nova chuck (with an adaptor) and grizzly chuck. The variable speed is very nice, and I appreciate I can change speeds quickly for different tasks. This was a big deal for me as I will turn and sand. The tool rest is not very smooth and I upgraded it. It is quiet and very secure. I use it on my 36" work bench, and it is a very solid machine. At this point, it is certainly a great lathe for me starting out. It is capable of everything I am asking for if I have the right chuck.

I have found the mini lathe good for the price. I had one dislike about the lathe. The screw on the tail stock is bent, but will still operate.

The workmanship is just so,so .i think for the money it is fine I regret not buying a better lathe. I have a Jet lathe full size in my home in Arizona .

This lathe appears to me to be exactly the same as the grizzly that is priced much higher. All these tools come out of the same chinese factories and are then branded by whoever. Mophorn is priced very well. The lathe works as presented....the head stock has a metric thread, I bought an adapter to 1"x8tpi for about 25 bucks.

I've never used a lathe before. It came in a very timely manner but the instruction manual that came with it is worthless. I could sure use a video on assembly and operation, I hope I'm doing it right. Help me.
