Looks nice and lives up to expectations. I expect the wood will eventually turn grey from being in the weather. I assume it could be painted if you like, but I'm guessing fir would benefit from a really good sealer coat before painting.Assembly was pretty straightforward. Keeping these separate would give you more planting area with the same amount of dirt - something to consider, but if you do set this up in the stacked orientation (which looks very classy and great for a corner), I think it might be a good idea to put something under the "floating" corners for support. There shouldn't really be any weight sitting on them, and they will be sitting on dirt, but dirt moves, and I believe the corners may start to sag after a year or two. I'm thinking something like a 2x4 or landscape timber sitting on a concrete paver on the hard ground or something of that nature. Easy enough to do before you put the dirt in! I'll come up with something when I decide where to put this. I was going to put it in my new greenhouse, but it looks so nice I don't want to hide it!
