We have two ponds on our property. One is spring fed, the other is not. We purchased this to use for pumping from the spring fed pond up to our other one that holds all of the fish we've stocked. It's worked great for us and keeps our pond from getting too low during the dry season.

Works very good. sucks out 55gal drum in 2.5 mins. very happy with it. it has a lot of power. I would say go for it ,

Cast Iron means cast iron. It heavy for the size, but works great for my applications. The only "complaint" I have is I wish it came with a male and female garden hose fitting instead of 2 males.

Purchased this pump to facilitate emptying three tiered backyard fountain during cleanings; good speed and power. The final inch of water is removed with shop vac. Spare washing machine hose works well for intake without collapsing; section of garden hose suffices for outflow. Pump is set on a wooden stool, with surface depressions fashioned to accommodate feet, for better stability.

Came in a well protected box .Works as promised , hope to get a lot of use out of it.. Would of given 5 stars but the cover for the switch keeps popping off....

I use this to water my garden and also to fill a 200 gallon resevoir, it works exactly as it should. Very strong stream and pumps uphill without any struggle. Recommend.

Pump is sturdy and durable, made of cast iron and metal. Inlet and outlet uses standard size garden hose. We wanted to use pump primarily for power washing and increasing water pressure when watering lawn, instead of purchasing various products that only serve one purpose. This pump has many uses. The only downside is the use of carbon brushes that must be replaced, (per supplier every 200 hours). I don't know how you would calculate usage hours but you don't want brushes to wear down to the spring base, you could get a nasty AC noise feedback into AC line. However, many brushless water transfer pumps are very expensive. This pump is very good for price point and has many uses.

Yes, it does cost more, but worth every penny. I use this pump to empty 50gal water filled drums. Have 150' of 3/4in hose laid out to a lawn sprinkler. It work amazingly, as or more powerful then house water pressure.

I attached the inlet and outlet hoses, primed it, and flipped the on/off switch. I worked great. It filled my 600 gallon water tank from my pond in about an hour. It raised the water up hill about twenty feet and it traveled about 100 feet.
