Soft wood, had some splits and cracks in it so used wood glue and the screws ran into each other at the bottom of the catio where the caster mounts are and the frame. Had to drill pilot holes so the wood wouldn't split. The screws seemed on the short size.. Fortunately my husband the jack of all trades helped me out took us a few hours. His said it was ok for the $$$. He didn't have to build one! Elly Mae likes it and I am happy with it. But only time will tell..

This cat condo is ok, but want to warn people to do a few things to it to make it safer for your kitties. The wire along the inside has really sharp edges so I had to file and/or cover them with something. I also had to sand a few of the shelves because they could cause splinters. Other than making sure to check for safety concerns, the price is pretty good.

Quality of the house is ok, although wood is weak and reaks of pine so bad i had to unpack it outside. Wish you could install doors that open on opposite sides so i could turn the house towards the pet door and still access it from the other side facing out. All in all it’s a decent product but my cat wants nothing to do with it. He wont go inside on his own and cries if you put him in there.

Directions were a touch tough to follow but it was easy to put together. Great price for what I purchased. Both my new kitten and myself are satisfied.
