Chimney cap
This Velcro chimney cap is high quality and easy to put together after watching a you tube video.

ownerHow is the sloped
How is the sloped top of the cap removed for flue cleaning? There is no access to the 4 nuts which hold the sloped portion in place.

Great price and great quality. Assembly instructions could have been better but both the installer and I were impressed with the quality.

Great Chimney Cap!!
Exactly what I was looking for! Very durable and well made chimney cap. Looks great and should last for many years. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for this item.

I did manage to get it to fit
Because of my particular chimney, I had to do a little "engineering" to get the correct dimension for a proper fit over my double chimney. I had to buy spacers to get the angled pieces to get close enough for the screws to do their job of holding it to the flu pipe.Once assembled, the cover was fairly solid and went over the pipes easily. The screws do hold it in place and have done so without problems so far. Here in Oklahoma we get some heavy winds at times and I hope the way it's secured will hold up to that strong of a wind.....time will tell.All-in-all, not a bad little unit. Has worked well so far with keeping birds out. I feel it ws a good purchase and would recommend.

some problems
The screw holes on the chimney cap are misaligned, making it difficult to insert the screws. If I hadn't already assembled most of it, I would consider returning it. The assembly requires fastening many screws, and I really don't want to disassemble it now, so I'll have to find a way to secure the screws myself. The instruction manual is also quite rough, with unclear steps. Watching a video is necessary for installation, but in the video, the orientation of the screws on the cap is incorrect. The nuts should be positioned under the cap. Overall, the quality is acceptable, but the assembly process is very troublesome.

Good affordable Finished Product
I received my Chimney Cap in the specified time frame. When i opened it there was some scratching on multiple pieces, a couple missing screws and one of the holes didn’t line up quite right but they gave me a small credit for my trouble and i went to the local hardware store to pick up a couple more screws and had to drill one of the holes bigger to get it to line up. The instructions were not that informative but if you’re use to building things and you apply some common sense it’s fairly easy. You can attach it by setting it in new concrete with anchors or use the long machine screws on the bottom for a press fit like i did to the chimney flue. The metal is fairly thin but once you get it all together it is pretty sturdy. I purchased the 13X21 Size and the inside dimension on the bottom frame once assembled is true to that size. I put locktite on the threads so it doesn’t loosen up over time and added a few screws. It does take about a hour if you’re fairly handy to put this together with all the screws. All in all i am happy with this purchase because the final product came out good and it is more affordable than comparable ones I've seen out there but it does takes some elbow grease with 9 pieces that get assembled and about 30 machine screws with nut fasteners. If you think thats too much trouble just look for a preassembled Model but expect to pay more for that.

Could use a few more fasteners on the top but all in all great cap for the price.
