Great value, good introduction to CNC.
The assembly instructions are great, the manual is printed on quality paper with good images, and it presents in plain language how to put this little gem together. Shipping was prompt, and the unit came to me more quickly than I'm used to seeing through UPS ground delivery. Functionally the machine is rather easy to use, but the 2.4 inch display on the hand unit certainly inspires one to get it hooked up to a computer quickly. The windows drivers and software are included on a USB stick along with PDF copies of the manual. The supplied 1/8th inch bits are all 'carving knives', and the only collet provided is a 1/8th inch one. I would suggest that you order a full set of chucks if you have any end mills or bits you plan to use with this CNC. The controller board doesn't seem to support changing the RPMs of the spindle, so your choices seem to be 0 RPM or full-out 12000 RPM. I haven't fully explored what options are available to work around that. Overall this is a decent value, and the 1 year warranty is 9 months longer than that of most manufacturers. I'm happy with my purchase so far.

CNC was well packaged, everything labeled and very easy to put together. Everything worked right out of the box. This is my second CNC. Built this one to be a plotter and added longer extruded aluminum and longer belts to give it a 50"x65" work area. Done quite a few banners and signs with it now. Machine is very accurate and very repeatable. I like the way Grbl homes better than my Mach3 machine. Software lacks features I'm use to with Mach3. Installed Open Builds' Grbl software. Open Builds software was easy to configure for the bigger work area and has feature I like over Mach3 and missing some feature I like in Mach3. After a couple dozen projects on this machine, I'm VERY happy with it.

Good Value
I liked the size of this and the assembly although complicated came out fine, although the drawings were a not so obvious, but I figured it out after looking at the parts. It would have been easier with bigger pictures. Wiring labels were a bit faded but all the wires were marked so that was fine. Everything else was satisfactory.

Good but you got to know what you're doing
I see a lot of reviews saying it doesn't work. Just got to know how to run a CNC. It works amazing, hower if you want retained accuracy buy something ball screws. The belt needs to be readjusted regularly.

When I received the machine, 60 days ago, I had no idea how to operate it. I couldn't get it to cut anything. So I ask questions and they gave me answers. But I was still confused. I didn't know what a G-code was. I searched for information and found two FREE programs that convert BMP, dxf and some other configurations to a usable G-code for this machine. At first I was disappointed that I couldn't cut anything bigger than 1 1/2 inch square. Bit these programs can resize my clips to 15 inch square. The machine works like it was advertised to work. To make 3D cuts I have to purchase that software. I recommend this machine but I also recommend getting the free software if you're a beginner.

Engraver CNC
Was sceptical at first. Ordered one for work February 2024 to do door name tags. After testing it for a few days it turns out to be wery well build engraver. Now it is doing electrical cabinet tags, motor tags and equipment tags. Almost 4 weeks it is running non stop 8 hours a day. Using vectric software for desighn. Using gravostoreusa plastics which cut to the size that fits in the engraver (24x12). The engraver is not too big and does what we got it for and it is not to noisy. Never use tech support. Also the one i got is very well alighned. Engrave dual color plasics at 0.4mm (0.016inch) deep perfectly.

Very impressed with this CNC so far!
Bought a Vevor 3018 Pro a year back, and got the S4040 because I was ready for bigger items. It's neat. Pros (lots): The price is very accessible. Shipped fast, well packaged. It is pretty to look at, nice trim colors, superb spindle for the money, very quiet! The 300W spindle is why I chose this over others, along with my prior experience with VEVOR. It has an offline controller, which is how I run it, the other reason I got this model (I much prefer an offline controller, and the full size SD carrier for the microSD makes using with my computer much easier!) . Comes with 4 clamps. A large working area slightly bigger than 15.7" x 15.7", depends on belts and limit switch for absolute size. Did I say it has limit switches? Didn't expect them, but there they are. Super. Has a nice control box. Assembly was straightforward. Take your time. Make sure all is square, and aligned. Tighten with care, evenly. No problems. Cons (not many): -Could use an instruction manual for the offline controller. --Be careful that your control box Emergency Stop isn't locked down on receipt, it may confuse you that it is not working. Rotate to unlock it, then reset the alarms in the offline controller. --I had one Z limit switch wire that arrived disconnected or got that way somehow during assembly. Once that was corrected, along with the emergency button reset, all worked *perfectly*. Summary: This cuts well, and quickly. I can go faster than my 3018 if I wish, and it's quieter too. I *love* the larger area. And this CNC can be made even larger with a minimal investment. Did I say I liked the colors? It is a thing of beauty. Only thing I'd change as to aesthetics would be just to have VEVOR alone on the controller box, the ad copy isn't needed for a CNC. Not a biggie. :) I really like this so far. And I know from the one problem I had with my 3018 well into the warranty period that VEVOR will have me covered. Shipping was fast by the way, only a few days. WELL packaged. Just wish there was an official user manual for the offline controller covering all aspects of that, only reason I gave 4 stars for easy to use, vs 5 for that one category. Very impressed with this. A fine value. Am glad this is available. Extra Notes: Set your Z carefully, life will be good. Make sure clamps clear the Z axis for any motion, only problem I had once was I had a clamp slightly in the way and lost a step or two -- my fault, just due to learning this one. Screw them down as low as possible. You will want a sturdy table to run this on, particularly if working it at speed, and make sure it is secured well (it can go fast). Has rubber feet (another great addition). Again, this thing's working area is so much nicer for all the new craft boards and surfaces you can find locally or online. Perfect for them, no more having to worry about space on the 3018 Pro. :) See pics.

Works Great
No problems, if your using with Easel you can use the FoxAlien 4040 XE profile. This seems to be very similar to that CNC.

I purchased this CNC as an upgrade to the 3018 I have been using for around 3 years. I wish I had done it sooner. Quiet, quick, smooth operation, I had sent a question prior to buying if it worked with Inventables Easel online software and the reply I got was what is Easel? After receiving the CNC and setting it up I spent a little time on Easel and was able to get it to work just fine by selecting Fox Allen 4040, so if you are an Easel user, I can confirm it does work.
