For many years we used the cheap griddles with the nonstick surface and if we were lucky would get 2 years out of them. This griddle (even though it is not something you want to move around much) is really awesome. There isn't a toxic nonstick surface and food can stick if you don't use some kind of oil. The cook surface heats evenly but takes a while to heat up. We turn it on 1/2 an hour before we plan to use it. It is simple to clean however if you cook bacon on it it will take a bit to clean and you will not ever get it to look as good as it did when it was new. There are cleaning kits you can get to help and I'd advise getting one. Cooking on this griddle just feels better than the cheap griddles. I don't know how to explain it but it feels like the food is better. The even cooking is likely the biggest factor. No longer do I have some bacon cooking faster than others.

I love it. And at this price i regret not purchasing a unit sooner. It heats up fast and maintains temp pretty even across the cooking surface. There is a larger temp gap in the auto cycle than id prefer, but its easily adjusted manually. Then it responds very fast. Another great vevor product.

After working in a few restaurants BOH, i really missed using one of these ... This thing is GREAT for the home kitchen, its not too big, perfect for a family meal. Make sure you season the flat top and use plenty of oil (or butter) when cooking with it. Perfect restaurant quality!

This really is a great griddle for the money. I would not want to go any smaller than the 18-inch. Seasoning was simple, albeit a lot of smoke so do that outside. We have made Pancakes, omelets, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, fried ham, bacon, toast, toasted buns, hashbrowns, and chicken strips. Really good non stick after seasoning. There is a 'hot zone' with the electric that reduces the surface area of effective cooking, or the surface temp can be about 20 to 30 degrees lower than center. It can also take 10 to 20 minutes to get up to temp, it's a thick steel flat top. That said, the ability to use this on our countertop in the kitchen makes it much more usable than a gas model. We like it a lot and are happy with the purchase. If making big breakfasts, or fried rice it would be nice to have a bigger version than 18 inch, or have two that you could set to different temps. Also note this is a big griddle you will need space to store it if not left out on the countertop. We have room to put it on top of our oven under the microhood, so that is nice when cooking smokey foods. There has been no smoke from the griddle with the temp set at 400 F or less.

I have owned several restaurants with many flat top griddles, all price ranges. This one performs very well, as well as much more expensive griddles. Very pleased with this purchase.

Works well so far. Haven't used it much. but the temperature was controlled perfectly for the cook I look forward to more use soon.

I am very happy that I purchased this product. However, it does take up a lot of space.
