Pros-
1/3 of the price of comparable sized Manitowoc, Hoshizaki, or scotsman machines.
Fast shipping. I ordered Thursday afternoon, bin arrived on Sunday, ice making head on Monday
Simple to setup. You need to be somewhat handy to understand the piping size connections and depending on where you want to locate the machine you may need to do some simple plum ing work. But once you are hooked up to water you basically turn machine on and it makes ice. No learning curve.
Comes wrapped in protective film that looks so good, I may just leave it on!
Cons (these are splitting hairs, they are all very minor)
Ice scoop is a bit flimsy, but does have a nice storage hook. If you are using this in a commercial setting, you will probably get a stainless steel scoop. The supplied scooper will do the job for basic residential use.
The filter comes with a paper cartridge labeled "for testing only". There wasn't much info on the internet if you could just buy an aftermarket carbon filter so I'd like to make it clear that you can. I have pictures the one I bought but any 2.5" filter cartridge should fit. It was $20 for a 2 pack of cartridges at Lowe's, I don't understand why they just don't include one.
Overall, I just set this up today at 10am.and I have a healthy ount of ice at 4pm. This is going to make my boating and fishing and entertaining much simpler. Yea, you can buy a lot of bags of ice for $1300 but the time saved not running to the store and having to lug around 10-20 bags of ice for a day of fishing makes this hugely worthwhile for me.
