Amazing for the price!
I had a really thick and high strength Porch to remove so I could work on my foundation... When I saw this Demo Jack Hammer for under $200 I was like, what have I got to lose? All I had to do was add the Hydraulic oil and figure out how to insert the Bit. (Not easy! - I will not be removing it because I have no clue how to do that) First we demoed a sidewalk for a friend, his water line had broken underneath. This was pretty easy, it was only 2 inches thick. Worked like I dream. Then we set to work on the thick slab. Turned out it was only 10-12 inches thick around the outside, it was poured over a previous slab and they used high strength cement to make sure it held. Well, it was holding! But this Jackhammer allowed us to take it down 3-4 inches at a time, we just cracked away at it. It needs to be pushed down to fire off, and if you get it too close to the edge it will jump and dump you off. But the power was there and we removed that 10 foot x 10 foot slab in about 8 hours or so. Crazy that it works so well and costs so little. I have already gotten my moneys worth out of it. 1 more job and I will be ahead! Unit is still going strong.

Great price to value ratio!
You can’t rent a jackhammer for the price. I was skeptical. This thing makes short work of breaking up concrete slab. Couple of notes: The oil appears to run out fast. I was concerned after 10-15 minutes of use. It seemed to have used a lot of oil. I added more and then it didn’t seem to use any for the next 2 hours. My mistake. The chisel has to be fully engaged in the socket in order to function. For a few minutes, I got a lot of noise and no action. Accidentally, the chisel fell into position and it was on. I learned to ‘plant’ the chisel on the concrete which seemed to work well. This wasn’t as much of a problem after some use. The machine is heavier than I expected, but turns out to be advantageous. The weight helps the breaking action. My project is done so I will likely resell it. I think it could last a long time given the experience that I have had. It comes with replacement brushes which was a surprise.

Oh my God
This hammer is a beast. For the price one cannot beat it! I had to go through customer service to figure out the oil level in the sight bubble. Per CS; it is "When the machine is upright and the oil level is lower than 1/3, you need to add 46# hydraulic oil. Add oil to 2/3 of the way" I used the hammer to pound inground supports to heavy up my deck. No room under for post hole digging. 34" tall spike and went in without thinking hard! Rocky soil and it did not hiccup once. Note: the bits are not universal. I had to purchase a separate tool for the spikes I was using and had to grind the new bit to fit. Careful what bits you get!

Great, but may be better choices
This jackhammer works wonderfully! It's controllable and easy to use. This hammer is perfect for breaking up rock or concrete, especially if you need to do a lot of it. Be aware that this tool does not have a rotary function. For example, it cannot drill holes in rock or masonry. If this is something you might do, the SDS-max rotary hammer is probably a better choice. It still does a decent job of breaking up hard material, and it can also drill smooth holes.

I bought this hammer to help demolish a 70 year old concrete stoop that was covered up by a deck. It had pulled some of the brick away from the foundation and needed to be demo'd by hand instead of with a skid steer to make sure the house didn't also get wrecked. I borrowed an Echo diamond saw from a friend which allowed me to cut the tough old concrete into 6-8" long pillars. With the hammer and spike attachment, I worked as big of a chunk as I could off at a time in order to make cleanup easier. Working sideways under a deck with a 40 pound plus tool was tough and sweaty. The hammer DOES get hot with use, so it's best to work in spurts and then let it cool off. Also did I mention it is very difficult/hard work. The front handle is the best place to push into the target to reduce vibration into your body, however, it's more accurate to hold by the main shaft. Vibration damping gloves might help, but I didn't use them because it was so damn hot and I was switching back and forth from saw to hammer. The spike bit has lasted well. The skinny chisel bit I started with and it got dull before long. The wide chisel I barely used to try to get mortar off the brick wall. For this job, it was an indispensable tool. I think a good value, especially since I got it on sale. The cord seems a bit undersized for the current it's drawing. But it didn't cause a problem for me.

Best value for a jack hammer you'll find
I look at this thing and how its built and performs for 170 bucks and realize the 500+ dollar ones are a complete ripoff......it is very well made and ive been using it to break up 5 inch thick concrete around my pool without issue

Works great for the price, used it to break up a side walk and driveway. It comes with several attachments that make it better than most.
