I'm a handyman doing fencing and I've been through a couple gas augers in a couple years - namely the Predator from Harbor Freight. Maintaining a cheap gas engine is frustrating, I needed something reliable, so I finally decided to try this electric auger. I've dug about a dozen post holes with this auger now, and I love it!! Never going back to gas.

I used this to dig six post holes for my wood fence. It worked well and I could get a deep enough hole to add gravel for drainage and get my eight foot post to just have six feet above ground. There is a clutching system if you hit a big rock. I had this happen on two of my holes and had to get the rock out of the way with other tools. You wouldn't want this with really rocky soil.

This is my all-time favorite purchase. It's my favorite tool in my garage and my favorite thing to share with others. I cannot believe I have not left a review before now. ..The electric post hole digger has made such a difference and my yard work. From digging holes for trees and plants and adding new post for fence, this electric Wonder has made an amazing difference and the time I spend in my yard working. True story, I probably use the words electric post hole digger twice a week with speaking to friends and family. The value and quality are exceptional. The time saved from back-breaking shoveling is worth every sent spent.

This is a well designed and effective tool. Does exactly what it says it should. It creates large, deep, clean holes in seconds that would otherwise take 10-20 times as long to dig by hand. Fantastic labor and time saver. Just remember that it is a soil auger, not a drill. It will not cut through heavy roots but it actually does a fairly good job with smaller ones. Using this tool requires a certain amount of upper body strength and bracing since the unit may spin a weaker or inexperienced user around if it hits a large root, rock, or other obstruction. Know your limits. Practice in an open area with no roots if you have never used one of these. Use a second person if you are at all concerned about your skill or upper body and leg strength. I am able to use this tool completely alone without any problem as long as I brace the unit against my leg to prevent spinning and maintain solid control of the tool with both hands. If the operator is not using proper form, it will spin around wildly when it hits a root or rock. Definite potential for shoulder or other injury. That is literally the only caveat I have, however. This is an outstanding tool. I have been extremely pleased with this purchase.

I bought this in 2020 for post holes and just used it for the first time to bury a deceased pet. Like others, I was surprised there is no reverse. However, I have hard red clay dirt with lots of natural clay rocks. It went through the dirt like butter, which shocked me. As others said, be prepared to let go fast if it gets hung up. It has a lot of power and can jerk you. I thought no reverase would be a problem, but the clay was so loose after each of four holes that I could easily wiggle and pull it back out. After digging 4 conjoined holes, we were able to dig the loose dirt out and easily bury the pet. I am an older female and was able to use this without help. I assume if I ever get the bit stuck and need reverse, I'll have to remove the bit and use a metal bar/rod thru the cotton pin hole to reverse the auger bit out manually. I don't expect that to happen often, if ever. I would recommend this product.

It's the bomb! Out of the box and into the ground! Great performance for the price. Sped the fence hole job up tremendously!

Just got my post hole digger today. What took me several hours with a drill auger and shovel took me about 15 to 20 mins. Goes in the ground like a hot knife thru melted butter. As stated previously in other reviews this DOES NOT HAVE A REVERSE, so take use it wisely. This is my new best friend. If your thinking about buying it, do it, it is worth the money, and time, and strain, and stress and aggrevation of digging post holes by hand or wimpy drill auger.

It was very useful product. with some experience it works great and does the job. Great product for that price
