I got these literally the day before a giant move. I needed to move all my furniture off carpeted area as I was replacing the carpet and boy did these come in handy. On our old low pile carpet they moved around flawlessly as if it was hardwood. On the medium pile new carpet they still worked, but you had to be more careful and push closer to the stand than pushing on the furniture. Now I'll add I didn't use the straps, so maybe that would have helped, but all in all they worked much better than just floor slides.
