This is an accurate- if simplified, mimic of the 3B Scientific \"disarticulated skull\" but for a fraction of the price. All major parts and sutures of the skull are here, color coded with solid material- (Not painted! There is not one iota of paint on this model...despite store description,) and fairly easy to disassemble. It is heavy, durable, color-solid and kid-friendly PVC. (Also of note is that, like the 3B it resembles, it is an adolescent skull. Great for teaching kids by showing a model closer to their own anatomy than a generic adult skull.) Reassembly turns this from a scientific model into a puzzle of sorts, though. (This is the part where I explain my four-star rating...) Not mentioned in the description are the needle-like pins (not magnetic) involved in most of the assembly. Some parts require unintuitive forceful manipulation to fit/seat properly because the pins vary wildly in length, and not following the diagram (included) may result in broken or bent pins. The fixed lower jaw, which does not have any capability of natural motion, is unfortunately \"secured\" in place with two of these pins, (again-not magnets!) so is prone to fall off with normal handling. [Literally jaw-dropping...every time it is picked up...] The model I received was molded in very different colors than shown on the store page (or the included booklet,) but they were distinct for each piece. This does not concern me at all. BUT, of important note was a tiny, loose earth magnet in the packaging. I can't tell if it fell out of a part or if its inclusion was accidental. Either way, if you have small children, this is an absolute red flag. However, if you are an adult studying the anatomy of the skull and frown upon the several hundred-dollar price tag of a quality, feature-complete skull model, this is a great product. Overall very satisfied with Vevor's scientific models, and this one is no exception.
