This type of edging works well if installed correctly. It is not meant to be above ground, it’s not a terrace board. It’s meant to be mostly underground so the depth stops lawn roots from sneaking into planting beds. It’s a giant pain to install because of the depth— but it’s exactly why it works.I bought a special tool to install it and I don’t have to dig, just push my Wilton Thinline Trenching Spade in deeply, wiggle it a bit to loosen the soil, and waggle the edging down into it. It works for me because I don’t have rocky soil— your own results may vary. One of the only types of edging that actually keeps lawn out of the planting bed, but yeah, a bit of a hassle to install. Worth it.
