Initially i bought the post with the floor mounted metal plate, but soon realized that the plate is for cement mounting only. I used a wood pole insert to fix it in the dirt saving work. I like the way it turned out and is sturdy mounted to the dirt.

Pleasantly surprised by the solid construction on this post. I was expecting a lighter weight metal. This is treated, it has a nice texture that looks rust resistant (which is good because I am using it in Florida). It's heavy, not very light. Screw holes are drilled well for easy install. I can give this 5 stars for quality and durability. This is going to last decades for sure.

So much better than just the wooden post. this looks nice and clean and the mailbox matched the color perfectly. mounts with ease and comes with plenty of hardware to install for your application. good quality piece, great coating over metal that is tough doesn't scratch or chip easily.
