I am the owner of a freeze dried candy business and was looking for a unique but efficient packaging. I saw another FD candy maker using a bubble/milk tea sealer and instantly I wanted one. Okay, fine I love bubble tea as well and the though of sealing my home made bubble tea helped the decision. Anyway I have only had a few bad/melted seals which were user error and I sealed a lot of cups yesterday without any issues. I want to give some tips to help you before you get started: First: make sure your cups are okay to use(I use 24oz 95mm PP cups) Second: Make sure you have your film the correct direction, you want the outside facing up towards the seal plate. Think of a roll of wrapping paper, pictures go up. I used clear film but it applies no matter the film. You do it upside down and you are going to have a bad time. Third: Temp, I use mine set at 170 Fourth: Since this is a manual unit...Press time, It doesn't take long to seal so if you hold too long the cup/film will melt. I personally press the handle down all the way, remove my hand and then put it back to pull up. This is just the way I time it so I hold it down just long enough to seal. You'll find your own counting method, lol.
