Living in the NE of PA have had quite a few gazebo tents over the years. You learn to tether them down WELL, sometimes WITH even more than what's supplied. Summer storms can send one into the road flying! Mine has been up a week, yesterday we had torrential rains, wind enough for God Himself to ride on and today is gusty.
THE FABRIC REALLY IS WATERPROOF, ask my cat who spent part of the storm lounging on a chair with cushions that stayed DRY. So to report, no tares-rips-or water is excellent. Putting it up was a task none to hard yet you do really NEED 2 PPL. otherwise when raising it, it will TIP OVER. Still trying to figure out netting that will glide thru roping when wanting to pull it back, yet nothing to squawk about. It's up but the roping I pulled thru loops? and cannot allow netting to glide to pull back. I thought perhaps some WEIGHTS might be nice at the bottom of screening??? when its closed? But then, it would be cumbersome when wanting to leave it opened.
The screen between the main structure and tip top I BELEIVE is whats keeping it grounded when the wind wants to lift it. They provide NICE HEAVY DUTY STAKES!!!! No other company provided these kind. Thank you for those!!!! I expect to enjoy this for the summer. And if a really wild storm is coming I will lower it half way if possible, I think you can, as I needed to lower it a bit as one of the points on the tip top didn't catch when raising it/ and so I lowered to poles to bring it closer to my hands. and then RePopped it up.
I don't have much, live in a summer home that is becoming 4 seasons with some insulations and keeping those pipes heated in the winter!!! Living along a river is wonderful too. A SIMPLE LIFE IS ITS OWN REWARD ~ JOJO
