I have a shorter case similar to this on that I've used for carrying my ARs to matches and the range. I got this one to carry my longer bolt action rifles. I got the 42\" and found that it will typically fit a bolt action rifle with a 20\" barrel or shorter, but if you have a muzzle device it's a REAL tight fit. Cases like this are great because they have other compartments for your eyes, ears, ammo, notes, etc. I hate lugging multiple bags and boxes to the or a match. These go a long way to at least minimizing the extra crap you have to carry around in seperate boxes. I would definitley recommend this case, just know that your longer barrel rifles or rifles with muzzel brakes etc will likely need a longer case.
