Anvil review
This anvil was everything I hoped it would be. Looking forward to using it for future projects. DN

Still setting in the yard where fedex set it.
Barely rust on it so I'm thinking it might be good one. Hard to beat the price for a good cast steel anvil.

Cheap lump of metal
Does what I need it to do. Don't expect great quality at this price. Paint rubs off so be careful what touches it.

Great anvil, great value, great price!
This anvil was a Christmas present for my husband & I am very happy to say, he was thrilled with it.It arrived fast, well packaged & let me tell you, this thing is sturdy & well made. We were both very impressed with the construction of it & the value.Very pleased with my purchase!V.S.

Good crude anvil
Good, cheap, cast steel anvil. Surface is sort of hard. The casting is crude but can be tuned up with a grinder. FYI my hardy hole is approximately 1 1/2” at the face and narrows crudely as you go down. I’ll work on cleaning that up someday

Impressive 66lb (30kg) cast steel anvil at a bargain price
NOTE: this review is for the 66lb (30kg) steel (acciaio) anvil, not the lower weight and inferior quality 55lb anvil. This steel anvil is of sufficient mass to begin smithing on a small scale. I'll be using mine for tool and knifemaking and have no doubts that it will suit this need. The face is well machined, with chamfered edges to prevent damage. The hardy hole is the right shape and size though it does need cleaning up to be free of burrs. It has a nice sustained ring suggesting that the steel is well formed with no major defects but it will need to be dampened so as not to drive everyone around insane - a big old speaker magnet attached under the heel should help. I've not pounded any hot metal yet and will report back once I do. At this price, you'd be hard pushed to find anything better!

Probably the best steel anvil for the price 66LB steel I ordered ...
Probably the best steel anvil for the price 66LB steel I ordered off ebay because it was a little cheaper but exact same item.Mine came in black but otherwise as pictured. Shipping was quick for the weight and being free. The hardy hole was decently clean a little flashing but that took less than 3 minutes to fix with a file. Without a doubt this anvil is steel and tempered. It rings well and a 1" ball bearing has >70% rebound. The face is probably 50-54 RC it can take a lot of abuse but an errant hammer swing will leave a small shallow dent but nothing serious. Overall it is the best bang for the buck in steel anvils

66lb model Works great, it’s solid cast steel and has great rebound.
