I picked up a couple of these to build standing desks on short notice. I would normally build or source a butcher block top for these, but in this case I was in a rush and I just found a sale on something at a big box store. The top is around 48lbs and 56 inches wide. It's a good size for these legs, which are also supporting a big monitor and a couple of studio speakers. It's not a light kit but it is easy to assemble. The steel on the legs is sturdy. I don't know the gauge but it is thick and well powder coated. This kit fixes an issue that I have seen with other standing desks, in that the cross braces have an additional pair of brackets so you can use bolts in the middle of the table top. Usually the only bolts are near the legs on the side. I didn't have time for threaded inserts so I just used some spare 1/4\" bolts that I took from a destroyed office chair. Assembly was slowed down by a couple of poorly threaded inserts on the 'B' units. I almost had to tap them to clear out the threads. The motion of the desk is smooth and slow. Controls are very simple, you get an up and down button plus a few memory slots. I almost never use these. On the whole, nice sturdy legs. Combine this with a table top and you have a pretty slick standing desk. I bought two for standing desks and might buy another for a garage workbench.
