Used on front springs to MY14 Xkr. Quality is good, and worth the price . However found 2 caveats, 1) Not as Easy to compress spring to required size . Instructions state not to use an impact tool, and rightly so , so I had to use a breaker bar with pipe extension. Good luck on trying to keep the whole assy. from rotating . 2) When compressing spring enough, it began to 'Bow Out ' on opposite side of screw mechanism , this is not only dangerous but prevented me from inserting strut with boot etc. . Resolved by placing another compression tool on same side where bow occurred and compressing both at same time

The tool feel apart the first time I used it. The inside c-clip came out. I was able to reassemble but I also noticed that the bearings had no grease.

This tool makes replacing struts a breeze! I should have bought it earlier. It fits most vehicles and makes changing struts a much safer job. The hard case makes it easy to store and keep your work area clear.

Former VW master tech and this thing is as good as the one VW supplies for hundreds of dollars less. Highly recommend.

I needed an affordable spring compressor for an upgrade and wanted one a little more robust than the Macpherson strut compressor available at nearby hardware stores. This clamshell style compressor was easy to use and felt as secure as a spring compressor can. Safety first!

Great product. The screws to secure the compression points install from the INSIDE.So far it has been great. Easy to move barrel around the garage.

Works way better than a clamshell design but directions unclear.The directions came in Hungarian. The directions did not indicate whether impact tools are ok to use. Identical sets on Amazon say it’s ok but clarification would be nice.Some kind of retaining clip broke while using it, luckily not hurting anyone.Have to try to get it warrantied now.

Worked well with large springs of XC90. Seems to be much safer than simple threaded rod clamps. Instructions not in English so I need to determine what lubrication is needed to maintain functionality.
