I bought this to put 2nd jack onto my trailer so I could jack it up higher and use both to block under each other as i raise it to drain boat better when it sits. The pipe is longer than the one on it now. I had hoped it would have more lift. It does not extend as fully within pipe as it would seem it should. But it seems strong and good quality so I moved it rearward more and since I'm blocking each using the other for lifting sequentially it just means I need more blocks and time. I have a 6000 lb tandem axle aluminum bunk trailer. The jack has predrilled holes in the bars and plate it mates to that you clamp around trailer frame. I rotated plate 90 degrees to see if both sides were spaced to reach and only one side was long enough. But the set of holes has about 1/4 inch gap below bolts on frame so I will need to shim it with something as now it leans badly and is not straight up, causing tension on the pipe that may break it. But I will find some aluminum plate or similar and shim the gap and I expect this to work well, especially for the price. It would be nice if jacks came pre greased-this one feels like it doesn't have any, like all the other ones I've purchased elsewhere over the years. It makes it much easier to crank and protects from rush inside-so take plastic cap off and grease the gear contact points and you will be good to go. I may drill and tape for a grease zerk to use grease gun in future.
