Well worth the money
I’m really happy with this bandsaw. I only do occasional metalwork so I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a toothed blade miter saw. I really don’t like the abrasive wheel chop saws. The steel demon diablo blades on a circular saw work well but they make tons of chips that fly everywhere and they have limits on thickness. I was able to cut 4” and 3” steel C-channel pretty easily. It cuts very straight if you go slowly. I also slowed the blade speed some. The included blades work well but I replaced them with a Lenox 18tpi blade from Amazon and it worked nicely on thick and thin metal. I would recommend it. Picture is a steel table I made with it.

Portable band saw with base
Works great. I use it on a daily basis to cut material for my many turning and milling projects. I have a small workshop, so the larger floor mounted versions would be a tight fit.

took a bit longer than 2 days to receive the bandsaw, however it did arrive in good order. the directions need to be better for those that have never used this sort of tool before, i have so i did not have any trouble figuring out how to remove the guards and install the blade (i opted for a harbor freight 18tooth blade) the blade is easily installed "if" you place the blade in the bearing guides "first" then warp the blade back over the drive wheels making sure to release the tensioner first. that can be determined by visually moving the lever and watching the wheel move toward the other wheel. pretty simple once you take a look at how to do it. if you try to mount the wheels first and then make the blade fit the bearing guides? well good luck doing that! this machine is very well built, nice heft, not some light piece of crap but something that has the feel of a quality tool. the motor runs smoothly without vibration or unusual noise. i suspect repair parts can be had from harbor freight, via their bauer branded tool which appears to be the same machine as this vevor unit. maybe the same factory makes both units, not sure. as with any power tool, one should remember to let the tool do the work and not try to add weight by pushing down. if you feel you need to add weight by leaning in on the tool, you are probably cutting hardened steel or have a dull blade. either change to new and proper blade or stop trying to cut hardened steel. for the price this vevor unit is a winner, with a nice balance of quality/features and price. will this bandsaw last as long as one of the big name manufactures offering? maybe/maybe not, but i suspect treated correctly this unit will last the hobby/diy/intermittent user a lifetime. i am looking forward to building a vertical stand for this unit and also one to allow for horizontal fixed/vise operation, and it works out to be what i think it will prove to be, i will be ordering another one or two! highly recommend this tool for the home shop/diy/intermittent user, and would also suggest professionals that need a porta band saw every once it a while take a serious look at this Vevor unit. unless you are a professional plumber that uses a porta band every day, day in and day out, it is hard to recommend paying 3x the price of this unit.

A must have for any DIY machinist or builder. It would be great to have cast alloy base though.
I always had problems of chopping the material for milling and turning before, and eventually got a circular saw for metal. But that solved only part of problems, and chopping thick steel bars and tubing was still a challenge. I saw that others use bandsaws for that, and looking at price and reviews, decided to get this one. It came fully assembled and the box contained couple of M42 14TPI blades. When I installed blade and made first cuts, I was wondering why I did not get it before. I cut steel rounds, stainless steel, aluminum bars and steel structural tubing, and all worked fine. I was surprised that the manual was all about safety and did not explain how to select proper blade types and speed (for steel the speed must be rather slow for the blades to last). Getting few more blades for different materials would help. The tool is more robust than shown in the picture, and I could cut the washers from the tubing which were 0.8mm thick. But while the base is "OK", it did not meet my expectation because the description said that it is cast, not stamped steel. I was sold on this feature and did not get it. That is why I would give a combo only 4 stars, while the basic tool is worth 5 stars.

Low cost alternative to a commercial bandsaw - it works
I was initially skeptical considering the price since I previously used a oil fed floor unit of industrial quality. If you are careful and do not force the cutting (I actually take some force off the cut to assure very good tolerances angularly), I have good results. I have cut 25 pieces of 1/4" bar and 9 cuts through schedule 40 black pipe. The blade is beginning to be worn a bit, which is not great durability, but then this is not a daily use, high frequency, design. It is intended for a low cost alternate to a commercial design which would likely be 3x the price. You can't go wrong by purchasing this item. It is lightweight and can travel to your jobsite without a lot of hassle. I would buy again, but with a 2 year warranty, hope I don't need to. Go ahead and take the plunge. My next project will be to building one of those DIY rigs that can use the large Bauer handheld band saw in a vertical plane to cut out metal patterns for my metalworking art projects, etc. For a Horizontal cut , this rig works well. I wish they made this as an attachment for your existing Bauer handheld bandsaw. Getting a heavier duty saw would have been better, but this is great.

Worth the money
The stand is sturdy and the 'vise' works well. Con: saw does not lock in down position (not a deal killer). I used it to cut 33mm steel bars and it worked well. Pro Tip: DON'T use oil to cool the blade, it will start to slip. Water spray will work.

Great metal saw
I was looking for a metal band saw when I came across this one. For not much more this one came with a base which made cutting metal square, it also does angle cuts up to 45 degrees. I received it today and immediately put it to work and it worked flawlessly. Well worth the price.
