Easy and excellent.
Great product. This is a compact, single button distiller which produces excellent water. The taste is awful until oxygenated - I hooked up a fish oxygen pump and it is in the reservoir bubbling during distillation and the flavour is much improved. I add minerals to it when it’s done, the 7 ppm is impressive in the final product - you can see the rust and calcium in the concentrate left behind in the machine. The pH does settle to 7 and can be alkalised with a pinch of bicarbonate. It puts of a lot of heat, I relocated it to the outside utility room where the heat doesn’t make the air conditioning work harder, and it doesn’t take up counter space constantly. I am very impressed.

Such a great buy
This thing is awesome. I went through a lot of the reviews on different brands and settled on this one because 1.) very inexpensive 2.) has a start and stop button 3.) comes with the cleaning detergent crystals 4.) the top has a handle, making it much easier to clean and refill, 5.) it has charcoal packets to give a final filter to the water past distillation. Came fast and well packaged. I bought it to distill water for my opal nugget ice maker. My water was so hard even filtered it was clogging up the opal and required weekly vinegar cleanings. Since buying this and distilling my own water, the opal runs like a champ, no cleanings needed in over a month.I also bought a mechanical timer, I set it to 3.5 hours and leave a little of the water in the bottom so the minerals don’t bake on. I still get white film/haze all over the metal inside, but that cleans off just fine with the cleaning crystals included. The film does not impact the taste of the water at all, and I’ve cleaned the machine only once in the 1.5 months I’ve had it.I have drank the water as well, it’s really good, especially with the crystal clear nugget ice made from it as well. You will not regret the minimal investment in this awesome machine.

Effective distiller at a great price point
The quality of the build is very good both aesthetically and functionally. Unsure of the choice for a glass container for the distillate as it’s likely to break from use. I only used it twice so far and while I cannot comment on long term reliability of product it has worked nicely so far. Instructions on cleaning and assembling the glass jar handles could be better.

Excellent water distiller. Low noise and heat.
I find the size great for my small kitchen. The only problem I need corrected is the glass container. It cracked during the second time using it. Not sure if glass is tempered. Also not sure how to going about getting a replacement.

Side by comparison to the more expensive distiller
The reviews are all over the place on this distiller, but overall they are positive, so for the price point, I decided to give it a go.Background History (skip if you want to get to the nitty gritty)I previously owned the more expensive water distiller (the one that costs over $200 -- using the intials MH from here on out), which I purchased in Dec 2016. At that point in time that distiller came with a two year warranty. I had to get a new base unit in February 2018 because a hole former at the bottom of the unit and water spilled onto the countertop. By Sept 2019 a hole formed in the new base. (Because the new base was only under a one year warranty, I was forced into the market for a new distiller). MH now has a higher grade (commercial) stainless steel base unit on the market for over $300... I contacted the company to ascertain if I could get a discount for the better grade stainless steel in light of my experience with their units...but I never heard back.So my research began. I figured, if I get a good year out of a lower priced unit, then it would be worth my money. I landed on this little beautyACTUAL REVIEW :-)External Design ****The design is similar to most distillers on the market. The only difference is the motor/fan part of this unit has a handle. This is Uber useful as sometimes the top suctions itself to the base making it difficult to get the top off. Another thing I like is that there's an on button and an off button. I ordered the silver and it is hard to keep clean/smudge free - but that's cosmetic. The outside of the unit does not get super hot to the touch. With the MH distiller, I had to wait half hour to an hour after distilling to remove the top for cleaning. This unit never gets too hot to handle.Internal Design **Unlike MH water distiller (which has a solid smooth bottom), this water distiller has a channel around the circumference of the unit where water sits after the unit turns off. The raised portion (inner circle created by the channe

Broke after 3 uses but company replaced item!
My product broke after 3 uses but I contacted seller and the replaced it! I took the old one apart and I can see where to problem lays. One of the heating elements is too close to the fuse. Even though the fuzz is insulated, I believe that is the problem. An easy fix would be to insulate the fuse more and to move it a little away from the heating element. The company also provides you with an additional fuse. You just got to figure out which one is for the fan and which one is for the heating element. That all being said, the water tastes great. I love how it takes the chlorine out. I hope that the company changes the positioning of the heating elements and fuses because it is a great product for the price and works well when it works.

Better than the really expensive models!
Very well-made compared to the more expensive models. Stainless steel lid for the water reservoir and a rubber seal bottom so the reservoir doesn’t slip. I love the on off switch-The more expensive one I bought first had a spring loaded one touch button that broke after the first time.
