- My intent is to use to polish stone (Marbles, Agates, Jaspers, and other large flat faces of rock)
This kit is going to be confusing to some buyers, right out of the box, since it is not ready to be used by any means, includes no instructions at all, and is not very self explanatory.
> TDLR - This product works. It has plenty of power. It can be used with other aftermarket wet grinding pads (bought from other suppliers). It will polish various types of stone (see pics at end). It is going to be wet and make a mess no matter where you decide to use this. It can be used 1 handed, because it has a lock on the on/off switch. It has variable speeds, slow for the 50 grit, etc, and fast for the finer grits (300, 600, etc). It is Chinese, and will be peculiar in ways. Here goes.
(Pic 1) The kit will come with some water hose (10 feet). This hose will have an odd fitting on one end. This is a Chinese AIR hose fitting, and you will not find any connection for it. So if you have a pressure washer (like I do), you will find that it will not connect to your washer. Nor will it connect to anything else. I cut it off and replaced it.
(Pic 2) The other side of the hose will connect to the Vevor polisher. However in many reviews, people complained that it leaked. To solve this, I created a Faucet Washer (these can be bought on Amazon), fashioned out of some rubber Drone frame isolator grommets that I had lying around. I cut off and stuffed 2 of these into the very end of this hose.
(Pic 3) The end of this hose actually has two connectors. Some complained of leakage and twisting off. To prevent this, I used Teflon Tape and Permatex Thread Sealant on BOTH of these connectors, where the arrows are pointing, when re-assembled.
(Pic 4) The back end of this connection will come loose and twist off, and leak. Others complained of this. To prevent this I fashioned a lock washer, and bridged the gap between these two metal connectors. Now they are not moving no matter what.
(Pic 5) You are going to want to hook the other side of this water hose to a Garden Hose. At least I wanted to. There are a few things you should know (documented next), however this Raindrip part can be bought here on Amazon for about 5.00. It will have a 1/4" Inside Diameter. It is normally used for garden drip emitter hoses. It will work. I did order a brass one, buy my Ebya shipper lost the part. These can by bought at Home Depot too.
(Pic 6) The water hose provided in this kit is (surprise!) a 5/16 Outside Diameter hose. That's right, it won't fit inside the part (shown in Pic 5). You must whittle down or reduce the outside diameter of this hose from 5/16" down to 4/16". I used a grinding wheel so that it was a smooth as possible.
(Pic 7) This is now what it looks like after we cut off the Chinese Air hose fitting, and placed the Raindrip 3/4" Garden Hose connector on the end instead. (NOTE: SEE MY ENTIRE REVIEW ON AMAZON)
